SYDNEY HEAT WAVE.
SYDNEY', Feb. 24. Saturday’s temperature of 106.3 degrees at 2.30 p.m is the second highest February reading ever recorded in Sydney. The highest, 107.18 degrees, was registered on February 8, 1926. Twenty Country stations recorded ever 100 degrees on Saturday, including Singleton, Alustvellbrook and Moree, 110; Alenindie, 108; and Bourke, 107. A westerly wind brought great clouds of dust, causing much consternation in some places among the children. Lights were necessary in the early afternoon in Narromine.
