NOTED FILM STAR.
DEATH OF AIABEL NORAIAND. NEAV YORK, Feb. 23. A message from Alonrovia, California, stated that Aliss Alabel Normand, the well-known film actress, died today at a sanatorium. Mr Lew Cody, Aliss Normand’s husband, who has just recovered from a nervous breakdown, was not at her bedside.
Some years ago Mabel Normand was one of the most popular of the screen stars —a popularity equalling that achieved by Mary Pickford and the Talmadge and Gish sisters. In recent years Miss Normand lost this popularity owing to unenviable happenings in which she was involved. One of her best known pictures was “Mickey.”
