At the annual meeting of the Rangitikei Hunt on Friday the following officers were elected: —President, Dr. S. Skerinan; vicepresidents, Messrs R. H. Aldworth, Jas Bull and Eric ltiddiford; master, Mr D. G. Riddiford; deputy masters, Messrs H. J. Cameron, W. J. Simpson, J. Brice and F. McLean; auditor, Mr F. Hatherloy; committee, Messrs Leighton Bull, P. Briant, H. G. Briant, K. Duncan, C. Henderson, H. R. Gaisford, J. McDonell, J. H. McLean, L. T. McLean, D. McLean, Evan McGregor, D. Simpson, A. W. Trotter, W. W. Wilson, Hairiisli Simpson and officers exofficio; hon. sec. and treasurer, Mr A. Way. The balance sheet showed a surplus of £3O 9s. Air Riddiford was the recipient of several presents on the occasion of taking a trip overseas, and in his absence Mr W. J. Simpson is to act as master. Appropriate reference was made to the lose the hunt had sustained by the death of Sir James Wilson and Messrs A. H. Bill, J. M. Johnston, A. G. Simpson, B. P. Lethbridge and G. D. Smith, who were in their day prominent members of the club.

Scores in the Simpson Croquet Cup contest at tho conclusion of the second round on Saturday were Mangaweka 167, Hunterville 147, Marton 133. One round has yet to be played.

Gonvitle Tennis Club’s B team was defeated by Huntervillc on the Rangitikei club’s counts on Saturday in a match for tho C grade shield, the scorers being: Ilunterville 9 sets, 118 games; Gonville 7 sots, 117 games. St. John’s (Wanganui) Bowling Club defeated Marton players on the Marton greens on Saturday by 133 points to 120. Members of the Marton Jockey Club on Friday presented Air D. G. Riddiford, who is going abroad, with a travelling rug. Tho course committee is to deal shortly with the question of removing the totalisator house to a more convenient site.

An early start is to be made with the Rugby season this year in Rangitikei and tho annual meetings of most of tho clubs, as well as that of the Rugby Union, take place this week. A motor gymkhana was held under the auspicios of tho Rangitikei Cricket Association on Saturday, tho competitions being won by R. Maher (bending and musical chairs), L. AJaher (tilting-the-ring), J. Pawson (slow driving and potato race). In the tilting-the-ring eevnt, Air H. S. 0. AlcDonald sustained severe injuries to his head. The function was very successful and the funds of the association should benefit materially.
