TEACHING POSITIONS.
AT LOCAL SCHOOLS.
NEW APPOINTMENTS MADE.
With the reopening of the primary schools in Palmerston North, yesterday, several new teachers took up appointments, and next week there will be further additions to the school staffs.
Mr E. Taylor, of Wanganui, has taken up the position of first assistant at Central School, vice Mr H. F. Gabites, who was recently appointed (headmaster of the Marshlands School, [Christchurch. ,
| Miss A. P. Williamson (Havelock North) has assumed the position held at College Street School by the late Miss Dale.
Miss Grant (Whakatane) and Miss Emmett (Oroua Downs) have taken up |their duties as assistants at Central School.
Miss D. Niccol, of Palmerston North, has been appointed substitute assistant at Central School and will commence her duties on Tuesday next. Miss L. Wharton (Canterbury) will .take up an appointment on Tuesday Sat Central School as Miss Wild is leav;ing for Waitara. | RUSSELL STREET’S NEW HEADMASTER. Mr F. C. Campbell, first assistant at Terrace End School will, it is understood, assume the headmastership of the Russell Street School on July 1. Mr Campbell is a most popular ‘'and efficient teacher whose promotion has been well deserved. While house-' .holders will regret his severance from. [Terrace End School, they will congraItulate him on his appointment as (headmaster of the fine new school in Russell Street.
Miss Piercey (Longburn) will join the staff of Russell Street School at an «arly date as assistant mistress.
