REOPENING AFTER VACATION.
ATTENDANCE FIGURES.
Teaching in the primary schools at Palmerston North was resumed yesterday after the autumn vacation. The present attendance at the Hokowhitu School is 348, and at College Street 462. There are reported to be about 70 absentees, mainly in the infant classes, at the latter school, which has a roll number of 636. At the West End School to-day 324 jDUjpils were present out of a total of There are 158 pupils attending the Russell Street School, while the enrolments at Terrace End number 690. The roll number is 816 at the Central School and the attendance averaged 745 for yesterday and to-day. The Palmerston North Girls’ and Boys’ High Schools each commenced their second term’s work this afternoon. The Technical School re-com-menced its classes yesterday.
