DAIRY FACTORIES.
■ MEETING OF ASSOCIATION. 1 exhibits of produce at I shows. ' The monthly meeting of the executive of the Manawatu and West Coast Dairy Factory Companies’ Association was held to-day, when there were pre-gent:—-Messrs S. A. Broadbelt (in the chair), C. G. C. Dermer, P. Hansen, jb. Ranford and J. W. Teale. SHOW EXHIBITS. The Manawatu provincial branch of the New Zealand - Factory Managers’ Association wrote forwarding the following resolution passed at a meeting: “That this meeting considers it advisable, in th# economic interest of the produce in shows, that 281 b of butter or one -cheese constitute an entry in each class, using a suitable box in the case of butter.” . . The Dairy Companies’ Association had previously written suggesting that it would be moving in the right direction if an attempt were made to cut - down show exhibits by half the quantity as at present required, thereby giving factories a better opportunity of exhibiting. PRICE FIXATION. A deputation consisting of Messrs N. Campbell (Awaliou), P. J. Small (Kairariga) and Honeyfield waited on the meeting relative to a scheme for the fixation of prices on the local market. The matter was discussed in committee and, following the retirement of the deputation, it was decided to communicate with the Bush, Wairarapa and Hawke’s Bay Associations in order to’ ascertain their views, and, if acceptable to them, to request them to forward delegates to a conference to be held in Palmerston to further and possibly finalise the scheme. ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the association was set down for July 18.
