FIJIAN SPOFFORTH.
TEN BALLS, 9 WICKETS. Fiji Beems to have the fast bowler that Australia is looking for (says a Suva correspondent). Mixed teams of Europeans and Fijians, representing Levuka and Lautoka, met the other day. Levuka went in, and a Fijian bowler took five wickets with the first five balls of his first over. The seventh . batsman stopped the sixth ball. The bowler at the other end took one wicket" for four runs, and the Fijian, with the first four balls of his second over, took the remaining four wickets. Levuka was thus disposed of in 15 minutes for four runs. The Fijian hurricane has a calm, easy style. Ho walks seven or eight feet, slowly, grippirig the ball lightly in both hands. ■’ , Then, flashing round in a perfectly circular swing, he sends them down at a terrific pace, wickets and bails flying in all directions.
