A message from Spelzia states that the Italian submarine Mamili successfully passed the pressure test, beating the world depth record by reaching 117 metres. This is 12 metres more than the previous record, which was attained last year by a submarine of tlie Ballilla type. . The Mamali, which is 65 metres long and of 820 tons, was built at Taranna shipyards.
