VISIT TO DOMINION. INVESTIGATION OF' NEW ZEALAND METHODS. (By Telegraph—Special to Standard.) WELLINGTON, March 27. Hon. D. Drummond, the New South Wales Minister for Education, intends leaving Sydney on April o for Wellington on a holiday tour. He will take advantage of his visit to investigate the New Zealand system of dealing with the delinquent youth and hope 6 to inspect the Borstal Institution at Invercargill. The care of the youthful delinquent in New South Wales is under the jurisdiction of the Minister for Education, though in New Zealand the responsible minister is Hon. T. M. Wilforcl, Minister of Justice, who has opportunely circularised the stipendiary magistrates to secure their views on the operation of the children’s courts, a matter in which Mr Drummond has indicated that he is particularly interested. Hon. H. Atmore, Minister for Education, who has been in close touch with the visiting Minister, will receive him on arrival and make arrangements to provide all the information required regarding the work of the child welfare branch of the Education Department and the children’s court system.
