UNEMPLOYMENT COMMITTEE.
TO FUNCTION AGAIN THIS YEAH Mr J. A. Nash, M.P., has been in communication with Hon. W. A. Veitch, Minister of Labour, with regard to carrying on the meetings or alie li nempioyment Relief Committee in Palmerston North during the coming winter. In reply to his representations, Mr Nash has received-the following letter from Mr Veitch: “I thank you for your letter informing me of the arrangement that was made by the late Government whereby a committee was formed in Palmerston North for the purpose of endeavouring to find work for those unemployed locally. In answer to your enquiry 1 wish to assure you that, if the members of the committee will continue their activities, it will be much appreciated. Meantime, . will you please accept and convey to the other members of the committee an expression of my sincere thanks for. their past services.”
