A. AND P. ASSOCIATION’S SYMPATHY. It had been the intention of the Governor-General, Sir Charles F©rgusson, to have attended the fifth Royal Show, but, owing to illness, His Excellency was precluded from making the trip. As an expression of sympathy with the Governor-General in his illness, the following telegram was despatched this morning by the Manawwtu A. and P. Association to Captain Boyle, His Ex-_ cellency’s military secretary:—“Sir Douglas McLean and the committee desire to convey, their sympathy with His Excellency in his illness, and wishes for a. speedy recovery. They regret that .he is unable to attend the Show.’’ To-morrow, Captain Orr-Ewing, A.D.C., and Mr Day, private secretary to Sir Charles Fergusson, will visit the Show.
