BATHS AND GROUNDS IMPROVE- ‘ MENTS.

Tho Central School Committee specially met last evening to discuss matters in connection with the opening of tile school baths and the school generally. Mr Alexander Clarke presided over a good attendance of members. The baths question was discussed in committee, and it was s'tated later that it had been decided to call for applications for the position of caretaker. . , . ' A number of improvenients in tire school grounds—the provision of playing apparatus and some seats for the grounds —are to be carried out, but it was pointed out that before the work could proceed additional funds would be necessary. It was stated that the electric lighting system in the school had been practically completed. Tho school will be closing to-mor-row and Thursday, from noon each day, for tho Royal Show.
