SKULL ON RUBBISH TIP.

SUVA “MURDER” SENSATION. STORY OF ANALJCTION SALE. SUVA, Aug. 27. Rumour had it the other morning that murder had been committed in Suva. A skull had been found on tho rubbish tip, whither it had been carted' by the municipal garbage lorry. The details were very realistic and by the time tho police got to work the story had attained sensational dimensions. The police found the skull on the tip, but it turned out to be a very old one. As a result of much inquiry the police traced the skull back over a period of several months through several - hands to the time when it had been the property of the wife of the town clerk, Mr S. G. Davey. He had bought it with a job lot at a sale of the effects of tho late Dr. Brough.. Mrs Davey looked on if as rubbish and’ out it went to start, some months later, the sinister rumour of foul murder.
