EXTENSION OF FACILITIES

(Australian Press Association—United Service.) LONDON, July 30. Replying to. a question asked in the House of Commons by Mr P. A. Hurd, Conservative member for Devizes, Captain W. S. A Ormsby-Gore (Un-der-Secretary for itho Colonies) said that the Government proposed substantially to extend the facilities for the preliminary training prospective migrants, including two new instruction camps and the extension of voluntary societies’ activities. The Overseas Settlement Committee had taken steps to further its policy, and also to pay a family allowance while the breadwinner was in training. As to land settlement, and the recommendation of the Industrial Transference Board, Lord Lovat would take up the discussions on these matters with the Dominions during his tour.
