BUNNYTHORPE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) - BUNNYTHORPE, May 7. A friendly game of football took place on tho recreation ground on Thursday afternoon between the Newbury and Bunnythorpe schools, resulting in a win for Newbury by nine points to six. On Thursday a tea and social gathering took place in the Public Hall, being the annual gathering of tho Anglican Sunday School. Tea was provided for tho children and tho evening was spent in games and musical items. The manual meeting of the Domnin Board will take place at an early _ date, when tho report and balance-sheet will be presented. On Saturday afternoon a fairly large crowd gathered on tho recreation ground to witness the football match between West End Old Boys and Bunnythorpe juniors. The game was very oven in the first spell when tho visitors were on a number of oo casion3 almost scoring, Piercey and _ McDonald being well in the lime light. Finally tho latter obtained a try which was tho only score in the first spell. The second spell opened with tho Bunnythorpe team out to do their best and before tho gamo had been in progress long a fine bout of passing from halfway between Allerby, Clevely, Smith, Godfrey and Pinfold resulted in tho latter scoring a good try which McKay converted. Soon after Cieveley sent the ball out to Smith, who, with ono of his great runs, scored between tho posts and again McKay converted. A few minutes later McKay kicked a penalty goal. Tho West End Old Boys made determined efforts to even up the scores, but were driven back to see Mills divo over and score. Just before time McKay, the Bunnythorpe full-back, drop kicked a good goal, and the game endod with tho scores: Bunnythorpe 20, West End Old Boys 3. Mr Edw. Clevely refereed. Much comment was caused by some of the decisions of the referee and a line empire. Ono player was ordered off tho field.

The third grade team played a hard fourfit gamo with Feilding High School at Feiiding and suffered defeat by three points to nil. Both teams played good football and scores wero only prevented by sound defence. Mr Thompson, of Feilding, gave ovory satisfaction as refc-reo.
