(From Our Own Correspondent.) TOICOMARU, May 7. Mr and Mrs Schwass have returned from a trip to the south. _ Misses Mackenzie and D. Webb aro spending- tho term vacation in the north. Miss Blyth (Makorua) has returned from a visit to Wanganui. Mrs Frank Hewison intends returning to her homo in Takapau this week. Mrs Iteg. Carter is spending an extended holiday with her relatives. Misses Clark, of Wellington, aro visitors to Mr E. Stokes.

The local footballers were defeated by Weraroa, the score being 24 to nil. Mr E. Stokes gav-o U delightful coining of ago party to his second daughter, Philis, at his residence. Supper was partaken in the drawing-room, some 40 guests being present. The cake was inado by lier sister, Mrs F. Howison, and artistically iced by Mrs T. D. Stokes. Mrs Howison wore black and red shot beaded satin; Miss P. Stokes, black crepe do chine; Mrs A. Todd, pink georgette and lace; Mrs Jameson, cinnamon and beige crepe-de-chino; Mrs Carter, grey marocain and black lace; Mrs A. McLaggan, flesh crope-de-chine, beautifully embroidered; Mrs Bayliss, brown repp; Mrs Blyth (Makorua) accordeon pleated repp; Mrs T. D. Stokes (Makorua) navy serge; Misses Clark (Wellington) green shot taffetas and black satin; Miss Mackenzie, greon crepe-de-chino; Mrs Morgan, black beaded overdress; Miss Blyth, mauve with figured crepo-de-chine; Miss Stokes, black crepe-de-chine stencilled. Miss P. Stokes was the recipient of many useful and valuable gifts.
