At last meeting_ of the Borough Council, the question was raised by Cr. Hodgen3 as to whether or not a councillor could lend money to the council and still retain his seat. Tho speaker cited Cr. Milverton as having loaned money to the borough. ' “A councillor cannot do more than £lO worth of work for the borough in a year,” said the speaker, “and I think that if a councillor loans money to the council, the position is analagous. I move that the matter is one for the Municipal Conference bo take U!> Cr Clausen: I think that a councillor should be allowed to loan money to the council. _ ' ...
