WELLINGTON DOCTOR PENALISED. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. Intoxication while in charge of ai motor car in a Wellington street on Saturday night was admitted by .Dr Joseph Patrick Hennes6ev, a medical practitioner, aged 47, who appeared before Air J. H. Salmon in the Magistrate's Court this afternoon. Dr Hennessey’s car collided with a tramcar. r ‘ Tho police stated that he had been convicted of a similar offence at Auckland on September 12, 1925, when he . was”'fined £25. ' Counsel for defendant said Jhis client had contracted malaria and should not have taken liquor but for the fact that he was not feeling well and had taken a large dose of quinine and two or three stiff whiskies. Dr Hennessey was fined £SO and costs, his license being suspended until April 1, 1930. . . . . . ~For being intoxicated while driving a car, Charies Edward Bell, by trade a baker, aged 47, was fined £2O.
