TRANSMISSION POLES.
BOARD USES CONCRETE. SATISFACTORY RESULTS. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 28. Since the Waitemata Electric Power Board has been in operation it has spent £27,000 outside of new Zealand on the purchase of transmission poles. Referring to this item at a meeting of,the board to-day, Mr S. E. Kennings said that the Waitomo Power Board had undertaken the manufacture of concrete poles in the Dominion arid the results seemed to be most satisfactory. He suggested that this scheme -might be considered by the Waitemata Board. • The chairman - (Air J. W. Hayden) said that the engineer and he intended to make a tour about Christmas, and they would make a report after the holidays.
