OUTBREAK OF FIRE.
DISCOVERED IN EARLY STAGES. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 28. An outbreak of fire was discovered, fortunately in the early stages, in the old Government House, a wooden structure now used as portion of Parliament Buildings. A messenger who visited a room on the top storey used by Mr Lysnar, the member for Gisborne, found a table alight and a mass of correspondence in flames. He immediately turned on the ho6e and by the time assistance came the fire had been subdued. A heavy, gale -was blowing and had the fire developed there would have been serious risk to the whole building.
