DISABLED STEAMER.
PUKED UP ON THE COAST. SYDNEY, June 15. Tho steamer Proteus, bound from Sydney to New Caledonia, is disabled, having been rendered helpless in a sWrin 300 miles off the New South Wales coast. She has been picked up by the steamer Cross Keys which is towing, her to Brisbane. The Proteus is not equipped with wireless and was unable to report tho accident until the Cross Keys which is wirelessly equipped took her in tow.— Press Association.
