COLLISION WITH TRAIN.
ACCIDENT AT FRANKTON. WITNESSED BY AIAGISTRATE. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, June 10. A fine of 40s and costs was imposed by Air Wvvern Wilson, S.AI., in the Hamilton Alagistrate’e Court on Thomas Shaw, farmer, of Alatangi, for failing to keep a proper look-out while attempting to cross the railway line at Frankton Junction on April 6 -when a car driven hy the defendant collided with a train. Defendant said that owing to rain he did not see the train ing“l happened to be on the train myself and saw the whole thing,” the ihagistrate replied. He added that the car struck the wagon next to the guard’s van and defendant must have had plenty of time of to see the train.
