SEPARATE SCHOOLS.
EUROPEANS AND NATIVES. AUCKLAND REQUEST. (By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, June 15. The necessity for having separate schools for European and native children was emphaised at the meeting of the Auckland Education Board following a notification from the Education Department that it was not possible to provide a conveyance for children going to tire Tauranga School from Welcome Bay in view of the proximity of the latter to the Alangatapu native school. “We do not want to 6ee European children placed in native schools,” said Air H. S. AV. King, and Air R. Hoe said that the natives ,did not want their children to bo taught with those of Europeans. It was decided to urge the department to reconsider the matter.
