OIL COMPANIES.
TWO MAY AMALGAMATE. Per Press Association. GISBORNE, April 22. Mr Wyllie, an expert retained by the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, who has been making a comprehensive survey of this district for several months, has completed investigations and lcit for London. It is understood that there is a possibility of the Anglo-Persian Company amalgamating with the Taranaki Oilfields Company, contingent on Mr Wyllie’s report satisfying the company. The jirospects ot oil being discovered in New Zealand are sufficiently promising to warrant it.
