CLAREVILLE PEOPLE PROTEST. DEPUTATION TO POSTMASTERGENERAL. Per Press Association. „ CARTERTON, April 22. A meeting of Clareville residents was held yesterday to consider an intimation received from the Postal Department that the Clareville office would be closed. The meeting, which was fully representative, decided to enter a strong protest against the closing and to support a protest by a strong deputation to the Postmaster-General. It was further decided to circulate a petition so as to obtain signatures for presentation to tho Postmaster-General. A meeting of settlers at Hinakura was also held. As Hinakura is situated 18 miles from the nearest post office, the settlers considered, that the Clareville office closing would impose an unnecessary hardship.
