OBITUARY.
The many friends of Miss Sina Piercy will regret to hear of her early death after a painful illness extending over some nine months. Miss Piercy was originally an early resident of Ashhurst and had spent her whole life in the service of others. Generous and kindly to a fault, she as a ifeacher, endeared herself to many pupils in all parts of the district. Until last December she was a popular member of the staff of the Gonville School, and she remained at her post to the last in answer to the call of duty, long after her health warned her not to do so. Great sympathy is felt for her sisters and for her aged parents, of 15 Martin street, who have lived to see their daughter cut off in the prime of life-
