HOCKEY.
TEAM TO MEET INDIANS. SELECTORS STAND FIRM. At the meeting this week of the executive of the Manawatu Hockey Association, F. Cpusins, who was selected to play in goal for the Manawatu side to meet the Indians, forwarded his resignation from the team. After a full discussion the matter was referred to tho selectors, who, at a meeting this morning, re-affirmed their decision and decided that the resignation be not accepted. As the matter now stands the team already published in the “Standard” is to take the field. Any player unable to participate in the match on June 30 is requested to notify Mr Aitchison before 5 p.m. to-morrow.
TEAM FOR TEST MATCH. Per Preta Association. CHRISTCHURCH, June 24. The New Zealand hockey team for Saturday’s test is as follows: G. Fletcher, J. Soper, K. Perrin, A. D. Mahoney, H. G. Here, R. Butler, N. R. Jacobson, S. M. Bell, E. Watts and A. Burton; emergencies, D. T. Woodfield and L. Ireland.
