FOXTON NEWS.

Miss Muller, of tho Palmerston North Btaff, has been appointed to tako charge of tho local showroom of tho C. M. Ross Co.’s establishment. Mr and Mrs G. H. Peryman, of St. Hilda, Melbourne, wore visitors to Foxton during the Easter holidays. Mr is a cousin of Rev. S. Peryman, local Methodist minister. The Foxton Tennis Club intends to convert tho new grounds at the corner ot Johnston street and the Avenue into a beauty spot. Members have been busily engaged in clearing the grounds preparatory to planting and laying down the courts.
The Foxton Methodist Church will celebrate, on Sunday and Wednesday next, the fiftieth anniversary of tho opening of its church in Main street. On Sunday morning Rev. A. Mitchell, of Feilding, will preside and Rov. P. W. Jones, also ot Feilding, who took part in the opening services of tho former church on Good Friday, April 14th, 1876, will conduct tho afternoon service. Tho present minister, Rov. S. Peryman, will preach in the evening.
Although tho Foxton Hockey Club has only been formed twelve months, there are a number of members who will bo excellent ph yers with practice, which is most essential, and it is to bo hoped they will Dot let such a good club fall through.
