Although she died covered with flimsy rags, and in a vermin-infested home, a Alanchester widow, Airs Clara Jones, aged 74, left £50,000 of which £3OOO is securities and £4OO in silver in four sacks were found under tho flooring. She refused help when dying of pneumonia.
