COTTON SUBSTITUTES.
FOR SILK AND WOOL. OPTIAIISTIC REPORTS. LONDON, March 28. It is understood that Bradford experts are investigating new German and American processes of manufacturing silk and wool substitutes from cotton treated with acid solutions. They confirm optimistic reports and it is expected that considerable developments will take place in Yorkshire and Lancashire owing to lowness of cost of production It is reported that an established Berlin firm is preparing to manufacture on a large scale.
