COLLISION AT FEILDING.
MOTOR CYCLIST INJURED. (From Our Feilding Correspondent.) The crossing at South street, Feilding, was the scene of another accident this morning, when a motor car driven by Mr A. T. Spain, of Gisborne, collided with a motor cycle ridden by a young man named Norman Stretfon, of Feilding. From statements made by eye witnesses it appears that Mr Spain was proceeding, slowly along South street preparatory to turning into Aorangi road. Mr Stretton was coming from the direction of Palmerston North at a good pace and failed to notice the on-coming car. The motor cyclist sustained a broken leg and was cut about the face and arms. He was carried into Mr Norman Gorton’s house near-by, and after receiving medical attention was conveyed to the Palmerston Hospital. The motor bicycle was badly damaged, whilst only minor damage was sustained by the car.
The visibility at this corner is very bad, tho view from both roads being obscured by a fairly high edge, and it is not at all surprising that accidents of this kind aro happening.
