WHITE RACE.
PHYSICAL ADVANCEMENT. AHEAD OF ANY OTHER. NEW YORK, April 3. A message from Newhaven (Connecticut) says that Dr. Bennett, dean of the school of anatomy at the University of Virginia, addiessing a' convention of the American Association of Anatomists, said that the white race had advanced physically ahead of the brown and yellow races, despite civilisation’s attributed limitations. An extensive study of dwarfs and other abnormal people showed that human beings, deficient mentally and physically, were common in yellow ind black# races, whereas there were no low types in the white race. He said that many dwarfs were extremely well developed mentally and physically. Ho admitted that some so-called Mongolian dwarfs were in the white race, which, however, were not low types, but beings whose development had been arrested by disease.—A. and N.Z. cable.
