MOTOR CAR WRECKED.

INJURIES TO PASSENGERS. ONE MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Jan. 24. Just before midnight on Friday a seven-seater motor car travelling to Auckland skidded when turning a corner at Papakura, crashed into a telegraph post and was badly wrecked. The injured passengers were conveyed to the Auckland Hospital. Harry Kingston Booth, 38 years of age, sustained injuries to tho head and died last night. Richard O’Shea, 27 years of ago, has a compound fracture of tho tibia and general abrasions. Mrs Bertha Mercer, 30 years of age. has head injuries and facial abrasions; she is improving. Mrs Eive ltobinson ; aged 28, had cuts on tho face winch necessitated stitching. Miss Alice Olsen, who was also injured, is reported to bo in a serious condition.

Tlvo driver, T. Mercer, sustained a slight cut over the eye. The mishap was caused by the bursting of a rear tyre.

LORRY AND MOTOR CAR. COLLISION IN AUCKLAND. AUCKLAND, Jan. 25. In a collision between a motor car and a motor lorry at tho corner of Edendale road and Burnley terrace Miss V. Shanks, a passenger by tho car, was thrown from tho seat to tho roadway and sustained a compound fracturo of tho skull. Her condition is serious.

ANOTHER AUCKLAND ACCIDENT

AUCKLAND, Jan. 24. A serious accident occurred on the Great North road this afternoon when a crowded motor bus, bound from Point Chevalier to tho city, collided with an ice-cream delivery, van. Botft vehicles wero overturned and eight passengers from the motor bus had to bo taken to hospital. Four of these wero treated in the casualty ward and allowed to go home as their injuries wero not serious Tho names of tlioso admitted to hospital are: Iris Moore, aged 9, fractured right arm; Thelma Moore, aged 12, injuries to arm and leg; Trevor Pennycock, aged 17 fractured left arm, Mr Raymond Edgar, injuries to left foot.
