FOXTON BEACH.
lAIPROVEAIENT COAIAIITTEE. The report of Air C. H. Whitehead, chairman of tho Foxton Beach Improvement Committee, for presentation at tho annual meeting, states that the debt on the hall has been reduced during the year ending November 130, 1925, from £B4 10s 8d to £6B 19s Od. The income for the year, £6B 4s 9d, consisting of £4O 6s 7d from beach collections and sports, and £27 18s 2d from tho beach hall, showed a falling off when compared with tlvo previous year. During the year the hall was improved by completing the lining of the walls and by the installation of electric light. Tho work of lining the hall was carried out by the beach residents, to whom the thanks of the householders are due. There was no tree planting done during the past year, but trees planted in the previous year are mostly doing well. The com-: mittee is making a special effort to clear off the liability on the hall, and all householders are asked to help in this matter. The committee desires to thank Captain Larsen, who has acted as caretaker of the hall, and Air Brown for looking after tho young trees. The sports on January 1 last were brought to a closo early' in the afternoon owing to an unfortunate drowning accident which occurred. This also interfered with the beach collections. A suggestion has been made to tho effect that the committee should go into the matter of handing the control of the beach hall over to the Harbour Board. This is a matter that requires careful consideration and will be fully, discussed at the annual meeting.
