PRECAUTIONS AGAINST ROBBERY. NEAV YORK, Dec. 23. As a precaution against the epidemic of robberies, tax collection offices have been equipped with devices to discharge tear gas in the event of an attempted hold-up, while money bags opened by an unauthorised person spurt gas in sufficient quantity to render the opener unconscious.—A. and N.Z. cable.
