STORMS IN JAPAN.
SEVERAL VESSELS WRECKED. TOIvIO, Dec. 23. Northern Japan is being swept by storms. The losses are reported to include 20 fishing boats, which were capsized, while 150 fishermen aro missing. Numbers of houses were destroyed and 40 vessels were wrecked.—A. and N.Z. cable. GALE SWEEPS FRANCE. PARIS, Dec. 23. An eighty-mile-an-hour gale swept France, blowing down trees, hurling slates from the roofs and capsizing boats, resulting in 20 deaths. —A. and N.Z. cable.
