TERRIBLE DISASTER.
CYCLONE AND EARTHQUAKE. SEVEN THOUSAND DEATHS. Received October 26, 12.35 p.m. DELHI, Oct. 25. A telegram from Karachi, dated October 25, says: “'The Daily Gazette from Bushire states that an earthquake accompanied the cyclone in the Gulf of Persia wherein it is estimated that 7000 perished. The pearl fishing fleet was practically wiped out. Over 200 boats were sunk. The naval ships in the gulf lost two of their boats, one of which was subsequently recovered. The Tomb of Henjam Islands suffered seriously. Several acres of date palms at Basra were laid bare ” —A. and N.Z. cable.
