Received May 20, 9.50 a.rn. BERLIN, May 19. Dr. Stresemann, speaking in the Reid: stag, while emphasising that the Dawes plans will be carried out punctiliously declared that Germany could not acknowledge the present Eastern frontiers as permanent. They were opposed to the rights of self-government and no guarantee pact which acknowledged them could receive Germany's assent. Nevertheless, Germany was not desirous of changing the eastern frontiers by resort to force, even if she had power to do so.—A. and N.Z. cable.
