LONDON PRODUCE MARKET.

The Bank of New Zealand has reeeived the following cabled advice from its London office, dated 15th inst: —Butter: Slow. 168 sto 170 s per cwt. Cheese; Weak. 94s per cwt. Frozen meat; The market is likely to weaken for light wethers. There is an absence of demand for ewes and the market is depressed. The market for lambs is quiet and unchanged. There is a little better demand for beef. Wethers, light, 71d tio 83d; heavy, 5Jd to 6Jd; ewes, 4£d to 6£; lambs, under 42’s, llid t0124d; over 42’s, 10id to lid; seconds, lljd to 12d. Ox hinds, 5d to 5Jd; fores, 3RI to 3id; cow hinds, 4jd to 4Jd; fores, 2Jd to 3d. LONDON WOOL MARKET. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following cabled advice from its London office, under date 14th inst The wool sales have closed firm with more enquiry. Compared with the opening of this series prices for all kinds of crossbreds are lid to 2d per lb higher. Current quotations: Crossbreds, fine, 17d to 19d; medium, 14id to 16d; coarse, 13id to 14id. Halfbreds,. 20d to 23d; merinos, super, 27d to 29d; ordinary, 25d to 26d. ENGLISH MARKET REPORTS. LONDON, May 15. Cotton. —The Liverpool quotation for American middling Upland cotton, June delivery, is 11.97 d per pound. Rubber. —Fine, hard para, 22d pcT pound; plantation, first la tex crepe, 293 d; smoked ribbed sheet, 313 d. A strong European demand is pronouncedly influencing rubber prices, and tho statistical position is uncertain, consequently there has been a very keen forward speculative buying under which prices have substantially advanced. Jute. —Indian, native first marks, MayJune shipment-, £49 10s per ton; now crop, August siiipment, £4O ss. New- Zealand Hemp.—May-July shipment, £36 10s per ton. Copra.—South Sea, bagged, May-June shipment, £29 5s per ton. Linseed Oil. —£45 per ton, equal to 3s 7id per gallon.
