MATRIMONIAL BUREAU.
SCHEME REJECTED. May 17. The Wembley authorities rejected a scheme for a inntrimonial bureau for the purpose of bringing into contact the domesticated maidens of Britain with colonials. The promoter of the scheme undertook to erect dancing marquees and even suggested that oversew . visitors might select wives for friends unable to come to Wembley. 110 also stipulated for a percentage of the profits, pointing out that the scheme would result n an enormous attendance and thereby wipe out the exhibition’s debts. —Reuter.
