A meeting of the management committee of the Te Kawau Rugby Sub-Union was held on Tuesday evening. Air J. M, Crouclier presided. Before commencing the business of tho evening, tho chairman referred to the loss tho country had sustained through tho death of the Prime Minister. He asked tho members present to pass a motion of sympathy with the relatives of the deceased statesman by standing in silence. Tho motion was carried as directed.
Correspondence was read from the Alanawatu Rugby Union asking the sub-union to arrange to play Oroua Sub-Union on tho occasion of the Winter Show at Palmerston North. The secretary stated that ho had spoken to several members of the committeo and that ho had written accepting the invitation. The action of the secretary was endorsed. From the Manawatu Rugby Union inti mating that it would be pleased to recognise tho passes supplied to the sub-union’s officials at games played under tho control of tho union. The secretary was dirocted to write thanking the Alanawatu Union.
It was resolved as follows: —That the chairman, secretary and Mr A. K. Drew meet members of tho Awahuri Club and assist tliem in any way possible; that the secretary write asking the Manawatu Union to request the A. and P. Show authorities to seciiro ample accommodation for dressing and washing on the occasion of tho Orona-Te Kawau match at show time; that a trial game be played on the Kaimatarau ground on Wednesday, 10th Juno, A team to play in black and white and ]i team in club colours. The secretary was authorised to procure 17 pairs of stockings for the representative team.
