MORE SERIOUS SYMPTOMS.
OPERATION NECESSARY.
PATIENT BEARS IT WELL.
The Secretary of the General Post
Office advises as follows: “The Prime Minister’s illness lately developed more serious symptoms. After consultation between his medical advisers and Dr. Carrick Robertson, of Auckland, it was decided that investigation by operation was essential. The operation took place in a private hospital in Wellington early this morning. The patient bore the operation well. “Further bulletins will be issued from time to time.”
