MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
POSITION OF OTHER COUNCILLORS. Crs. J. A. McLeavey and H. J. Canton were questioned by a reporter tliis morning concerning their intentions in connection with the forthcoming municipal elections. "I am going to offer myself for a further term of office if some better men do not come forward/' said Cr. McLeavey. "At present I intend to be a candidate again. One does not get very many chances to do much during his first session in the council. Really, you are only getting 'down to tin tacks' in the first term," he added. "Well, it all depends upon whether my services are required," was the reply of Cr. Canton when approached. He added that if he received a request to stand again he would probably do so.
