COMMUNISTS GAOLED.
ESTHONIA’S HEAVY HAND. FIVE WOMEN SUFFER. LONDON, Nov. 27. The trial of 149 Esthonian Communists at Reval hits ended in the court finding all guilty of having conspired to overthrow the constitution by violence, in accordance with the programme prepared by the Third (Communist) International. The evidence, says the Riga correspondent of the Times, showed that the Soviet Legislation at Reval acted as the intermediary for the transmission of instructions and money from Aloscow. Thirty-nine men were condemned to penal servitude for life, seven were released, and the remainder were sentenced to varying terms of imprisonment. The trial lasted 18 days, and the court deliberated on the sentences for .39 hours. • The prisoners were brought in handcuffed and in pairs. The 39 sentenced to life imprisonment included live former members of Parliament and live women.
