COMBINED SCHOOLS.

SPORTS MEETING TO-DAY. the annual sports of the combined schools of the district were held on the Showgrounds to-day. The weather was dull and rain fell at intervals. 'the stand was crowded with children while there were a fair number of parents present. The morning was devoted to running oif the various heats, and the infahts’ races. The following were in charge of arrangements: Mr W. A. Swinbourn (president); Mr 11. E. Gabitcs (director); Messrs Campbell, Trevena, Gabites, 11. Hamilton, and ilayden (executive); F. Aisher, C. Burgess (starters); Ue Berry, Thompson, Overton, Swinbourn and G. K. Hamilton (judges); Campbell, Leot, Morine (recorders); A. J. Troveria (marshal), and N. Martin (secretary).
