NEW PICTURE THEATRE.
COMPANY BEING FORMED. There is a possibility that Palmerston North will have a new picture theatre at no great distant date, a “Standard” reporter being informed to-day on reliable authority that a company is now being formed with a view to purchasing the premises of the ICairanga Auctioneering Company in George street, and which were formerly known as His Majesty’s Theatre. The amount of capital which tlu promoters of the new venture are hoping to raise is £II,OOO, of which sum more than half is already subscribed. It is expected that the offer of the Kairanga Auctioneering Company for the ■-■ilo"' of its premises will be definitely accepted by the new company very shortly.
