SEARCH FOR MURDERER.
‘ ACTIVITY AT GISBORNE, (Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, Jan. 30. The police were engaged to-day in a systematic search of the countryside in pursuit of evidence relating to the crime at the Makaraka cemetery. In addition to the local police, a number of outside detectives were engaged and further reinforcements are coming from Auckland and Wellington. It is thought that it will be a dimcult thing for the murderer to get away from the district. No clues have yet been obtained, but themovements of a swagger who was in the locality on Sunday arc being closely investigated.
