BUILDING OPERATIONS.
A BUSY MONTH, Judging by the uumber of building permits issued by the Borough Council during the month of January, ended to-day, there is a mild boom in the building trade in Palmerston North at the present time. The total number of permits issued during the period under review was 53, the total value of these being £28,190 10s. The permits were allocated as follows: Houses 23, of a value of £21,572; alterations and additions 13, value £1288; other buildings (in which category is included the new Methodist Church), 17, of the value of £6280 10s.
