ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 11. The evidence at .the inquest regarding the death of Thomas Thew Young, of Dunedin, master tailor, who died in hospital, showed that deceased was on his way north on a health trip. aThe Coroner found that the cause of death was rupture of the stomach due to perforation of an ulcer followed by general peritonitis.
An inquest was also held concerning the death of Howard Simpson, who was found dead on the reclamation on 30,th July. The Coroner’s verdict was that death was due to an irritant poison, in all probability self-administered.
WELLINGTON, August 10. With tragic suddenness the death occurred to-day of William S. Espie, a well-known Wellington resident, and traveller for Messrs Johnston and Company. He entered the vestibule of the Commercial Travellers’ Club, and while talking to some friends expired, the cause of death being heart failure.
