TURKEY AND GREECE.
NATIONALIST FORCES COLLAPSING.
Received January 31, 9.10 a.m. ATHENS, Jan. °.9. A communique from Smyrna confirms the news that lEdhem Bey’s force of, two thousand has surrendered to tho .brocks. Nearly half the officers and men entered the Greek lines just when Turkey s _ propagandist stories of Nationalist victories were raining credence. It is supposed that Rdhem most unkindly selected that moment for surrender in to inflict tho most, serious damage on Nationalist prestige. In th e opinion of British observers reports of the Nationalists’ military strength are mere bluff.—United Service.
